Learn to research and write a grant with us!

Brenda Mauldin, owner of Brenda Long Mauldin Grant Writing & Development Consulting, will lead the free workshop, “Grant Writing: 101: Understanding the Basics,” from 10 a.m. until noon Thursday, July 9 online.

The workshop is meant to help those who are new or relatively new to grant research and writing. Get tips and strategies to build a strong, grant-seeking program. Mauldin also will review common grant applications with attendees and give overviews of grants and foundation research.


Attendees will learn:

  • About grants in general
  • How to determine whether an organization is “grant ready”
  • What the basic components of a grant application are
  • How to organize the grant-seeking process
  • What foundation research is and how to do it
  • How to interpret and manage search results
  • What funders are looking for when they review grant applications

The workshop is for nonprofit organizations but is open to anyone interested in learning how to research potential funders and write successful grant applications.

Mauldin has more than 25 years of fundraising experience in Central Arkansas. She has worked for a variety of organizations and has helped secure funding for the arts, youth, hospice programs and more. She has firsthand experience in nonprofit management, administration, strategic planning, volunteer management, board development and fundraising. Mauldin, who currently lives in Benton, is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
